From the South Shore/Highways 103 and 333 and the Lighthouse Route
Traveling from the South Shore/Bridgewater/Yarmouth towards metro on Highway 103 or the Lighthouse Route/Highway 333 you will have to cross over to Dartmouth via either the Angus L. MacDonald Bridge, "the old bridge"' or the A. Murray McKay Bridge, "the new bridge". A description of each alternative follows below.
To cross the McKay Bridge, follow the 103 to Exit 1A. Take the Bicentennial Drive/Highway 102 inbound to Halifax. The Bicentennial Drive becomes Bayers Road, stay straight following Bayers Road. At the second set of lights, Connaught Avenue, turn left and follow it to the next set of lights at the intersection with Windsor Street. Turn left at the lights.
Proceed to the intersection with Kempt Road and go straight ahead through the lights following the directions to the exit ramp for the McKay Bridge - watch out for merging traffic on your right at the ramp and have change ready for the bridge toll. Leaving the bridge follow Highway 111/Circumferential Highway to Exit 6A north. Follow the exit ramp towards the lights and merge to the right crossing the overpass towards Waverley Road/Braemar Drive/Highway 318. Follow Waverley Road/Braemar Drive approximately 2.8 km to Jaybee Drive. Turn left onto Jaybee and go straight through the 4-way stop to the campground - believe it or not you've found us!
To cross the MacDonald Bridge, follow the 103 to Exit 2. Turn right at the bottom of the exit ramp and follow the St. Margaret's Bay Road inbound towards Halifax. Enter the Armdale Rotary, stay to the left and take the Chebucto Road exit - traffic already in the rotary has the right-of-way however most people observe a "take turns entering and exiting" rule. Chebucto Road becomes North Street at the second set of lights, follow North Street straight ahead until it become the MacDonald Bridge. Have change ready for the bridge toll. Leaving the bridge, go straight on Nantucket Avenue and turn right at the intersection with Victoria Road. Turn left at the first set of lights, the intersection with Thistle Street, and proceed 2 blocks to the 3-way stop at Maple Street. Turn right onto Maple Street and follow it down the hill to the intersection with Prince Albert Road. Turn left at the lights and follow Prince Albert Road approximately 2.2 km to the Highway 111 overpass. Prince Albert Road becomes Waverley Road/Braemar Drive/Highway 318 at the Highway 111 overpass. Go straight through the lights traveling approximately 2.8 km on Waverley Road/Braemar Drive to Jaybee Drive. Turn left onto Jaybee and go straight through the 4-way stop to the campground - welcome, you have just proved "you can get there from here"!
