RULES & REGULATIONS

We strive to make all of our guests feel welcome and relaxed and we work hard to ensure everybody enjoys their time at Shubie Campground. So we’ve got a number of rules that ensure everyone has the best experience possible. Please read these carefully. If they do not seem like rules you can follow then perhaps we are not the right campground for you.

Check In - Check Out Time

Check-In: 2 pm - 6 pm (7:00 pm on Fridays)
*Please note the office closes at 6:00 pm daily, for a late check-in, please email the main office (stay@shubiecampground.com) and arrangements for a late arrival can be made

Checkout: by 11 am*
*Campers may request a late check out at the time of check-in.  The fee for late checkout (based on availability) is $15.00. 
 
Please note that due to volume Early Check-ins or Late Check outs are not available in July and August.

Quiet Time

Quiet time is between 11:00 pm to 8:00 am. Our security team will be strictly enforcing quiet time and can be reached by phone or text between 6:00 pm and 8:00 am.
 
 We are a family friendly campground. Drunkenness, excessive noise, and any other inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. Campsites who receive noise complaints will be given ONE warning. If a campsite receives TWO warnings, they will be ASKED TO LEAVE with NO REFUND. Police will be called if required.
 
Fires can be put out and firepits can be moved by staff at all times.

Generator use is permitted between 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm only.
 
No amplified music at any time.

Campfires

As we are located in a Municipal Park - All Campfires Must be out by 11:00 pm and no outside firewood is allowed. 

Did you know that a
 single piece of firewood can destroy millions of trees?
 
Campfires must be in the fire ring & attended at all times and NO GARBAGE is to be burned or left in your fire ring. Do not move fire rings ($50 fine). Cutting or removal of trees/branches is also not permitted.
 
Locally sourced firewood is available for purchase at the office. ($12 + tax)

Please note that due to provincial fire regulations, campfires are not available between 8:00 am and 2:00 pm each day. 


The Province of Nova Scotia will update the burn ban each day at 2:00pm to indicate whether or not campfires are allowed that day. Please find the daily burn ban updates HERE

Please note that the fine for violating the Nova Scotia Burn Ban is $25,000. This fine will be paid by the camper, not the campground.

Please work to keep everyone safe!

Pets

We love to welcome your 4 legged family members. Shubie Park has amazing walking trails and a world-class off-leash dog park and swimming area.
 
While in the campground, all pets must be on a leash at all times, must stay quiet (no excessive barking) and can not be left alone. 

Owners must pick up after their pets at all times in the park.

Site Capacity

REGISTERED CAMPING GUESTS - There is a maximum of six (6) people allowed per site (including children). There is an additional charge for each adult over two (2).

REGISTERED VEHICLES - One (1) camping unit (tent, caravan, RV, camper), one (1) dining tent (no floor) and one (1) vehicle are allowed on each site.
 
Should you have an additional structure on your site (tent, etc), you will need to pay an additional fee.

Vehicles & Gate Card

We have an electronic gate at our entrance.  When you register a $20 deposit is taken for a gate card.  This money is returned to you when you return the card to us.  
 
Having the card allows you to enter the campground at any time. We ask that you have $20 cash for this deposit.
 
A non-refundable fee of $1.50 will be charged for debit/credit transactions.

Only 1 vehicles is allowed within the gate per site. Additional parking is available outside the main gates. Please do not infringe on other sites and drive only on the roads to get to your site or other parts of the park.

Visitors

Visitor Policy  - NO UNREGISTERED VISITORS ARE ALLOWED

 

No unregistered guests are allowed in the campground. Should you wish to have a visitor visit your site - they must register at the front office.

All registered visitors must leave by 11:00 pm

Smoking

Smoking cigarettes is only allowed on your individual campsite.

 

As we are a family friendly campground no cannabis smoking is allowed in July/August.

 

NO SMOKING - cannabis included - in any of the public areas

Campsite Rules

  • No washing of vehicles in the campground.

  • No dumping of grey or waste water on your site. 

  • No EV charging at your site

  • No hanging clotheslines or tarps from trees, fence etc.

  • No outdoor rugs on the grass.

  • Please use the proper recycle bins for your recyclables and the garbage bins for your trash.

  • All campers will be asked to sign a copy of the rules at check-in

Liability

Management reserves the right to refuse anyone. Management will not be held responsible for any accidents, injuries, loss or damages due to fire, theft, accident or act of God.

Shubie Campground is not responsible for any loss, theft or damage that may occur while staying at or visiting the campground.

Campers must be a minimum of 21 years old to stay on their own - no unaccompanied minors are allowed.
